prequel to poems

you say you want me to
write you poetry

I want to write on you
with my fingers

have my words imprinted
forever on your skin

and tattooed behind
your eyes

claiming ownership
of you entirely

tell me if you still want
poetry from me

not over you

who am
I kidding?
I am not forgetting
I am only learning to let go

past tense

and you, you play your game
while I, I wait in vain
that time you said
you loved me
all I heard
was that
‘d’

Thief II

don’t sit there
telling me not to let anyone
steal my smile

over you

and slowly
realization dawns
that I am forgetting you
when I am able to do this:
delete every single message;
saving nothing, erasing memories

magic vs. logistics

if we are no longer
debating this
magic

and our argument
is essentially
logistics

you know we will
never get off
ground
