Branded

I wish
You weren’t
As widespread
And easily available
As the brand you represent.

You should have slammed that door

I did not hear the door slam
When you left me for my best friend

I was lost in my painted
Kaleidoscope, going round
My crazy private carnival

Lit up by the brilliance of us
That I built up in my head
Swirling magic, always aglow

You closed that door too slowly
Maybe you hoped I’d never know.

I love the way you love me

I love the way you love me

When you hold me up towards
The shimmering moonlight
Never letting me out of sight

Your gaze a caress, soft
Yet unrelenting like your
Touch, which skims slowly

Over skin, leaving it tingling
Wanting more as you kiss me
Incessantly, leaving me weak

With your loving, your hands
Your eyes, your commands
Unnerving, demanding

I love the way you love me

Pepper

I want to do to you
What pepper does

Creep up on you
Like pepper does

Take you by surprise
Like pepper does

And make you cry
Like pepper does

Words (written) last longer than love does

Even as you
Wrote of love
(Yes, even then)

Even as we were
Still entwined
(Or so I felt)

Even as my soul
Submerged itself
In those words

Even as my eyes
Eagerly drank in
Your love

Even then
Did you know
It would end

That I’d be left
With nothing
But letters

A raging fire
Then silence
Emptiness

Wondering
If I should
Trash or burn

When all I do
Is crash and
Yearn

Even then,
Yes, even then,
Did you know

Did you know
We would end
Even then?
